Yes, yes...there'll soon be enough newborns around to help satisfy the grandma instincts of our group. :)
Yesterday afternoon we hosted the station missionary prayer meeting at our house. It only happens once a month but we always enjoy the time of fellowship, sharing and prayer. And, yes, the goodies to eat. After all...! The first of our group of 4 empty-nesters (including us) is Phil & Mary Ruth Taylor. We are kind of related to them since one of their sons married one of our daughters (http://www.dstaylorbrazil.blogspot.com/). They have 2 sons, 1 daughter and 5 grandchildren. Paul & Susan Van Loh arrived in Curitiba around 1983. They recently arrived from a 6-month furlough when they were able to visit their 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. Ed & Jan Alexander are the parents of 3 daughters and 1 son. They'll join the grandparents rank in a couple of months. He pastors the Igreja Batista da Vitória where we are currently working.. Barry & Ellen Farlow arrived here in 2008 with their 4 boys. That number turns to 5 in Oct! They both grew up in Brazil. Evandro & Erica da Silva moved here from the Amazon in March so that he could study at the seminary. Erica is another one that grew up in Brazil. They are expecting their first child in August.
Yes, yes...there'll soon be enough newborns around to help satisfy the grandma instincts of our group. :)
