Dear Friends,
Today Rena and I made a visit to a Christian school in a nearby town where I presented two sketch board messages on the resurrection of Christ to over two-hundred teens. Last week I preached to about that many younger children at the same school where students attend from all types of religious and cultic backgrounds. Most listened attentively to the Good News of Christ crucified, buried and risen again according to the Scriptures.

Other ministries this month have included sidewalk visitation with several students from the Bible Institute where we teach. Dozens of people have heard the Gospel through this outreach, including several prostitutes to whom Rena and four ladies from the Institute presented the message of Christ.
Last week I preached the funeral of Paulo, a 65-year-old man, who apparently died without Christ. Years ago he and his wife had a short time of ministry to an Indian tribe here in Brazil. However, Paulo somehow strayed, started drinking, left the church and never really got his life straightened out. There wasn’t much I could say about him except that one son wanted me to mention that his dad was always proud of his seven children. I tried to comfort the believers and challenge the unsaved who were present with some thoughts on God’s greatness and mercifulness from Isaiah 40.
On a happier note from last week, Rena and I had the privilege to participate in the inauguration of a new church building about two hours away. The young Brazilian pastor, who is doing a fine job, is a graduate of the Bible Institute. We learned that the day after the inauguration, four people professed to receive Christ as Savior in the new building.
The work God has given us to do at the Bible Institute, our church and outside speaking engagements will keep our schedules rather full on up until our furlough which we have planned for December. Hopefully we will be able to visit all thirty-five of our supporting churches in 2012.
Please accept our sincere thanks to you for standing with us in our missionary endeavors in Brazil since 1978.
