Dear Friends,
The year is clipping on by, it’s time to send you our regular update. I, Rena, have been requested to write this so if something about it seems to have a different flavor…that’s the reason. May this find each of you rejoicing in the Lord’s daily blessings to you.
Bible College-In August we began the second semester after the mid-year break of July. We enjoy our classes and our students. (The photo on the right shows Johnny’s homiletics students enjoying a Skype lecture with Dr. Robert Delnay.) To see their interest, to watch their growth, to know we have a small part in their future ministries…this makes our time spent there worth every minute!

We are looking forward to November 29th when 7 students will graduate. Pray for Robson & Gleiciane, Josiane, Jaime (& Leila), Elisabete and Anderson & Leiliane as they seek the Lord’s will in regards to where they should serve.
Church- On the evening of September 14th we had a Sopão (big soup) with the church family. Some of the ladies worked in the kitchen for several hours preparing the yummy soup…beef, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, manioc, noodles and more. Are you hungry yet? Needless to say, the attendance was excellent.
On September 21st, I had a Chá da Primavera (Spring Tea) at our house for the young ladies from church. There were 8 of them besides another lady who helped me. It was alot of work to get it ready, but worth the look of enjoyment on their faces.

September 29th was when we had a Culto de Louvor (Praise Service). Everyone participated well in the time of singing, special music and testimonies. The testimony which Everton gave that evening was a special blessing. After 14 years of living a life away from the Lord, he returned to a right relationship with Him in July and has been very faithfully attending ever since. His fervor and growth is exciting to see!
In Brazil, October 12th is Dia Das Crianças (Children’s Day). Special activities were prepared for them by our four Bible college students, who have been holding Saturday afternoon children’s classes since August. Several members from our church have also helped and we have been delighted to see an increase in the number of children attending our regular services. A few of these have professed faith in Jesus Christ.
As we see Thanksgiving Day approaching we want to give you a special word of thanks for standing with us in prayer and financial support. October 5 marked 35 years since our feet first touched Brazilian soil. Many of you were already helping us even before that day. We thank God for your faithfulness and the privilege to serve Him here.
Sincerely in Christ,
Johnny & Rena Nunley
