"That looks like a good opportunity" I said to myself.
There were only five minutes before the park closed.
"That's enough time to evangelize her with my Wordless Book bracelet".
I approached her...
I held out the bracelet...
"These colors tell about some important truths of the Bible. Are...you a Christian?"
"No."
"Catholic?"
"No" she said again.
I waited in case she wanted to offer more information.
She did.
"I'm an atheist."
To be honest, I was NOT expecting that answer!
But I continued with my presentation of the Gospel, using the 5 colors. She listened well, even nodded her head once in awhile. I kept expecting her to interrupt me with whatever beliefs she would want to defend.Or at least say, "I don't believe that."
But she never did, In fact, when I was done and had given her the bracelet and tract that accompanies it she asked if she could have one for her son. I said she could and would she explain the meaning of the colors to him?
She said she would. (YES!)
Why didn't she defend her beliefs? Was she "new" at being an atheist and didn't know how to do it or know what she even believed?
Why did she even listen to me? Did she just endure what I had to say so she could get a free bracelet?
I'll perhaps never know but I'm glad that the Lord knows! His Word will not return to Him void but accomplish that for which it was given.
Amen!
